چکیده

With the pervasive availability of Web 2.0 and social networking sites, people can interact with each other easily through various social media. For instance, popular sites like Del.icio.us, Flickr, and YouTube allow users to comment shared content (bookmark, photos, videos), and users can tag their own favorite content. Users can also connect to each other, and subscribe to or become a fan or a follower of others. These diverse individual activities result in a multi-dimensional network among actors, forming cross-dimension group structures with group members sharing certain similarities. It is challenging to effectively integrate the network information of multiple dimensions in order to discover cross-dimension group structures. In this work, we propose a two-phase strategy to identify the hidden structures shared across dimensions in multi-dimensional networks. We extract structural features from each dimension of the network via modularity analysis, and then integrate them all to find out a robust community structure among actors. Experiments on synthetic and realworld data validate the superiority of our strategy, enabling the analysis of collective behavior underneath diverse individual activities in a large scale. Keywords-Heterogeneous Interaction, Multi-Dimensional Networks, Community Detection, Heterogeneous Network, Cross-Dimension Network Validation

A Comparative Study of the Effect of Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Collaborative Interaction on the Development of EFL Learners’ Writing Skill

This study investigates the effect of homogeneous and heterogeneous peer interaction on the development of Iranian EFL learners’ writing skill. Sixty female students of TEFL participated in the study. The participants were divided into two groups based on their English proficiency test scores. The homogeneous group consisted of 14 participants paired with partners with similar English proficien...

Towards uncovering phenotype/genotype relationships and systems level modeling of tumor heterogeneity

Uncovering and interpreting genotype/phenotype relationships are among the most challenging open questions in disease studies. In complex diseases, such as cancer, uncovering of this relationship is complicated by the heterogeneous nature of these diseases. We have recently developed three complementary approaches to address this challenge. First, we utilized interaction network and an informat...

An investigation into the frequency of Language Related Episodes in the EFL learners’ Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Dyadic Interaction

This study attempted to compare the relative frequency of the occurrence of Language Related Episodes (LREs) in the dyadic talks of pairs who were homogeneous and heterogeneous in terms of English proficiency.  LREs are those parts of the conversations where the interlocutors explicitly focus on linguistic form. The study was carried out with 60 Iranian university students of teaching English a...

Synthesis of Pyranopyrazole Compounds Using Heterogeneous Base Catalyst Based on 1,3,5-Triazine-2,4,6-Triamine Modified Nano Rice Husk Silica

In the current study, amorphous silica nanoparticles were easily extracted from rice husk ash. The target composite was synthesized by the direct incorporation of chloropropyl groups through the condensation of nanosilica and 3-chloropropyl trimethoxysilane and then grafting of 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine (Melamine) onto the propyl groups by the simple nucleophilic substitution reaction (RHA@...

Multi-View Clustering for Mining Heterogeneous Social Network Data∗

Uncovering community structure is a core challenge in social network analysis. This is a significant challenge for large networks where there is a single type of relation in the network (e.g. friend or knows). In practice there may be other types of relation, for instance demographic or geographic information, that also reveal network structure. Uncovering structure in such multi-relational net...
